Arnold Chiari (pronounced kee-ar-ee), or Chiari for short, is a condition whereby the back of the brain is descended into the spinal canal restricting the flow of spinal fluid around the brain and spinal column.
This page is dedicated to my Son David who was diagnosed and had decompression surgery at 3 years old. I am very proud of how he coped before and after the surgery and am very pleased with the results.
A special thanks to Mr.Tyagi at Leeds General Infirmary who performed the surgery and did such a nice job of it. I can never thank you enough for what you have done for us and the much better quality of life David will now have. Also thanks to all the staff on Ward 48. Staying in hospital wasn't an ideal experience for any of us but you all did the best we could possibly hope for to make it as pleasant as it could possibly be.
